Art Walk San Diego – Little Italy

Took the kids and their cousins to the Art Walk in San Diego yesterday. Worked all morning, even though I needed some sleep badly I was convince by my cousin Christina to pack up all the kids and brave Little Italy in the afternoon. I love art walks.. I usually prefer them sans kids, because I want ample time to stand there and admire all the work, get to know the artists… but it was “now or never” and so we took five little ones with us.

The streets of downtown were blocked off. Vendors posted up all along the middle in their tents while San Dieganites ( 😉 ) Enjoyed the views and fresh, perfect weather. Live music played and there were enough sights, smells and sounds to keep the children interested. One of those $20 parking spots was opened up and the entire lot was dedicated to free booths and tables where the kids could sit and paint, color, etc.. such a treat! On an afternoon where I would have usually just sat in, put on a movie… I’m glad I was pushed to leave and get some much needed Vitamin D, it was worth it! <3
