Pumpkins. Pumpkins! PUMPKINS. You can run, but you can’t hide. They’re everywhere this month. If you’re in San Diego, it’s tradition to most to check out the pumpkin patch at Bates Nut Farm, yearly. Jeff and I have gone every year since being engaged. I think it’s now more sentimental than anything else. Fun fact: one of my first job’s in high school was working at the Farmer’s Daughter’s Gift Shop at Bates. Did that for a season, really enjoyed working there. Well, except for the one night I closed late and they locked the gates on me.. in the dark.. surrounded by nothing but FIELDS. That might have been the scariest hour of my life.
Time seems to be racing by. Can’t believe it’s been a year since this. This year, kids didn’t want to dress up and take a nice family photo like most people. Nope. They’ve been really infatuated with the old Batman series (it’s on Netflix.. it’s the original one with Adam West) and they insisted on going in their Batman and Cat Woman outfits. We just went with it.
So it’s Friday and it’s a light post today! Reminding you to get out this weekend and even if you’re not a holiday/festive person, enjoy the surroundings. Carve a pumpkin. Make s’mores. Play with your children. Dress up if you want to. Snuggle up if you are cold. Snuggle up if it’s warm. Visit your local pumpkin patch and even if you can get the pumpkins for half the price at the grocery store: support local farms! I think that’s the main point. Say yes to a tractor ride. Say YES to wheel barrows. Continue creating those memories around those you love. Things they can cherish and hold on to since wow.. 2015 is going by in a hurry. <3 Cheers everyone, TGIF!
Below are a few shots we got with the drone! The videos look much better, but for now, still figuring out how to share those properly. 😉
