Snow?!?! I can’t believe it. When was the last time it snowed in San Diego?? I remember it hailed once when I was in 6th or 7th grade but that’s crazy! It didn’t even snow on Christmas for us but I guess next week it’ll drop into the single digits so… yaaayyyyyy…..
We didn’t go all out for New Years at all. I worked until 9 pm and then headed home with a magnum bottle of Beringer and that happy thought that I had New Years Day off. Otto has been feeling a bit sick lately so he was plum worn out by 10:30 and went down quickly. I was content to just drink glass of wine and curl up on the couch for a bit but I ran into my upstairs neighbors, Chuck and Nichole (who have three super cute dogs!), and they invited me (Brendan went to bed when Otto did) upstairs to ring in the New Year. It was really nice. We hung out, caught up and they shared some traditionally crafted mead with me that they bought at the Renaissance Fair this summer. (It was insanely delicious!)
Anyway it was a nice time and wayyy differnet from last year. Of course I reminisced about how ridiculous last New Years’ was… misreading our flight information and ending up staying an extra day with you all in San Bruno. Other than the insane amount of grapes that Dad asked me to peel for the first 12 strokes of the new year it was a good nigh with family.
We miss you guys very much and hopefully we can FaceTime soon. Now that the holidays are over we can take a deep breath and relax for a beat. At least for a couple of weeks. 🙂
