    UFO’s: Conquered

    Hey Tals!

I’m sure you feel a lot better after getting all that out of your system. Of course there’s no way you can go into a discussion like this expecting to change someone else’s mind but it’s good that you found a platform to speak your peace. Also you came at things prepared which is better than a lot of arguments I’ve read. Weren’t you on the debate team in school? (Or maybe it just felt like that growing up with you… haha.)

I know it’s been a lot of reminiscent posts on my end but I do have some good stuff to share today. Some projects that I’ve been working on for a little while. I got slowed up back in November when my trust Janome encountered some motor issues. I did get to borrow Brendan’s mother’s Kenmore but it wasn’t up to the task of buttonholes or zippers, sadly. I ended up going as far as I could with what I had and now that  my machine is back (and now that the holidays are over) there’s finally some time to finish up these UFO’s a.k.a. unfinished objects. 😉

A cute jumper dress made from a vintage girls’ pattern. Unfortunately no pockets so I’m definitely going to be altering this pattern for the next time. Overall though I love this thing.

The first project from the group featured today. I really do love it and it’s super comfortable. I think it’s also pretty prefect as  shirt that reflects my style. The buttons really tie the whole thing together, too. They look just like perfect little water droplets!

This one was completed in just a few hours. Seriously. The fastest I’ve ever finished a project. This was the second most recent project so it makes perfect sense that this one was a breeze. Lots of hard-fought hours with a sewing machine, grumbling and near-quit moments taught me so, so much more than any book has ever been able to explain.

These guys below are the final UFO’s (category: clothing) that I have from 2014. Pretty excited that all these need a buttonholes and finishing work (clipping seams, loose threads, etc).
